Educational programme for church choir regents


Brief description of the programme

Field of study: 04 – Theology.

Speciality: 041 – Theology.

Object of study: Biblical history, Vocal performance, Introduction to Theology, Harmony and Solfege, Basic Music Conducting, Liturgy studies, Church reading, Church singing, General Church History, History of Church Music and Orthodox Hymnography, Church Slavonic Language, etc.

The aim of the programme is to provide training for highly qualified regents capable of conducting educational and organisational work in a church liturgical choir, based on the mastery of the history, theory, means and forms of musical art and theology.

Teaching and education: professionally oriented training with the acquisition of competencies sufficient to solve complex problems in specialised areas of professional activity or in the educational process, which involves the application of certain theories and methods of theological and musical science and is characterised by complexity and uncertainty of conditions.

Suitability for employment: work as a regent with knowledge of the specifics of the work of a choirmaster and a singer, a psalmist who knows the methods of working with a choir, a choirmaster with skills in regency and choral activities, and a singer who knows the charter well and understands the basics of regency activities.
